Those of us who live in Normal Heights know what a special place it is. We are aware of the old fashioned sense of community where neighbors know each other, and actually carry on conversations! In addition to the annual festivals and community events, there are many buildings, gardens, restaurants, churches, etc. that contribute to the uniqueness of the place we call home. The Normal Heights Cultural Council is embarking on a project to develop a brochure featuring the qualities of the neighborhood. Our objective is to attract visitors as well as to educate residents about our local cultural landmarks. The goal is to produce a brochure that would include pictures and descriptions of 25-30 historic, interesting, or scenic sites and a simple map with a walking tour of those places that have been highlighted.
We are using this website to solicit suggestions about what should be included
in this brochure. Please e-mail your list containing an address or short
description and location of those homes, businesses, scenic areas, etc. that
you believe should be featured. You may e-mail the list to: nhculture@normalheights.org. Or, you may drop off your list at the Normal Heights Community
Center during the April 28th "Neighbors Meeting Neighbors" community dinner..
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and participation in this undertaking!
